Dakota/Deborah getting her shoes shined by Julio/Julia/Julian with some guy named Tony/Antonio filming. In other words, just another crazy night in Seville/Sevilla, Spain.
Trying to get my hair done while living in Spain has been quite a challenge. I don’t speak Spanish and I haven’t been able to find a Spanish hairdresser who understands “blonde highlights”. What really baffles me is how this same hairdresser knows the words to every Britney Spears song but looks at me like I have a third eye when I say a basic sentence in English. Nearly everywhere I go in this town, people are singing the lyrics to popular American songs in perfect English but they claim to speak no English. Below is what my hair looks like after I listened to my Spanish hairstylist sing in perfect English the lyrics to the Britney Spears songs I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman and Oops!..I Did It Again but refused to understand “Please Don’t F*#k Up My Hair”.

Ordering food is equally challenging. Below is a picture of what arrived at my table one evening. Wow! I had no idea I ordered vomit with an egg on top. Muchas gracias. What the hell is an egg doing on the dinner menu anyway?

I’m in New York City for a week. I haven’t been back here since I graduated from NYU. One of my favorite places in the city is Franchia Cafe located on Park Avenue between 34th & 35th. I love high quality loose leaf green tea and these people know how to deliver a proper fix.
This is just a quick video showing where I’m living temporarily after unexpectedly getting kicked out of London lol. It’s a one bedroom suite at the Marriott in Austin. I’m happy about it because I was staying in a regular hotel room at the Ramada and it got to be really confining. Extended stay places feel much more like a home.
Upon my arrival in London I was detained and interrogated by UK immigration officers for 27 hours and then deported back to America. It’s really scary that someone totally innocent can suddenly be treated like the world’s most wanted criminal. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever experienced. Basically the immigration officer did not believe I would be leaving the UK even though I showed proof of an onward ticket to Argentina on November 1st. We are working with authorities to get this resolved. The feedback we’ve received at this point is the immigration officer was completely in the wrong. I suspect she was simply intimidated by my superhero prowess.
Happy April 1st everyone! How are you setting your goals for the month? I broke mine into 3 categories – intention, daily habits/rituals, and creative production. I’m particularly excited about the challenge of creating new daily habits. Here are mine… [click to continue…]
